Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

This post is the holiday addition one I suppose this would be the equivalent to a cheesy holiday episode. Or not. It’s not really cheesy what so ever. Three things for this week are regarding social media detox, the power of actually writing things down, and noise cancelling headphones are awesome.

  1. Social Media Detox. I often go through these moments where I don’t want anything to do with social media and I go on a detox. I shut off my Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok and go cold turkey without posting. I’m starting to do this again. It’s been a few days already. I am still in Discord for my unpaid job and Reddit. I find it to be very healing because of the fact that most people don’t even care about you. They are so busy with their own life that they don’t need to or want to care about what you are up to. Unless of course you are a celebrity or a close friend. I think about this often and have noticed when I do go “offline” a lot of people text or call me out of the woodwork. Which is fine. I’m happy to have private conversations. I won’t be checking DMs much during this time so it is best to email me or text me. There’s some people who say it’s not sustainable to stay of social media however I think it’s not about being gone forever it’s taking a break going heads down working on what you need to and then coming back if needed.
  1. I love journals and notebooks to a fault. I recently picked up a book at the $5 store and it was normal priced about $20 or so it had a section to write about goals and things you want. If you have trouble finding out what it is you want you can go backwards and started with what you don’t want. Yesterday which was Christmas Eve I had this really amazing shower just super relaxing and refreshing and wrapped up in a worm fuzzy robe which I played my spa or meditation music and started journaling. It was super liberating to be able to write stuff out. I had such clear headed energy that everything was coming out perfectly. I made my goals which I started yesterday instead of the new year. Most new years resolutions fail. I love to started ASAP. The power of writing it down is you create a physical written outlet of what you want to do. It to me has more power than writing it on a tablet or computer.
  1. Noise canceling headphones are awesome. That’s it. That’s the paragraph.

I’m very grateful for this year and will look forward to the next even though I have started most of my stuff this year for goals and such.
